As you might guess, my background in Film and TV is also centered on the toughest locations and the most extreme production conditions. From shooting in the high arctic winters at temperatures of -50 degrees to capturing footage in Afghanistan and Iraq during the opening years of the GWOT. my experience in the EXTREME, provided great success for every production.
Navy and Marine Corps, "Power of Teamwork" film project, produced several short and long form films. Navy and Marine Combat Camera and PA staff went into the field and acquired hundreds of hours of HDTV cinema quality footage using Panavision cameras. The finished films played in public, military theaters and the Fox News Channel. Footage was also used to support many broadcast productions. For example, The Discovery Channel produced the one hour program "Delta Company - The Push To Baghdad" using this footage. David Taylor's production of "Perfect Valor", which won the 2007 G.I. Film Festival 1st Place Award, also used this high quality imagery.
After many years of producing, directing and producing programing for the Alaska Federation of Natives, with my own production company, KAKM, PBS, Alaska offered a position as Producer at their station in Anchorage, Alaska. My career there was cut short by the 9-11-2001 terrorist attacks on America. Only a few months after starting at KAKM. I was ordered to active duty and reported to Camp LeJuene, NC then moved to HQMC, the Pentagon, Wash, DC.
Warner Brothers Studios produced the feature film "On Deadly Ground" filmed primarily in Alaska. Steven Seagal directed and stared in this film. My recommendations to the Producer, Director and studio officers in Burbank, CA, allowed the production to save millions of dollars in production costs. For example, from my background in the Alaska Oilfield, I was able to find, move and assemble the oil drilling rig that was used for the opening scenes of a "rig on fire". Provided significant operational expertise when the production required a 150 man camp to be flown in and assembled 16 miles outside of Nome, Alaska. about 30 of my 35mm pictures taken during my time working in the oilfield were used in the movie.
